Everyone plays a role in making UBC’s Vancouver campus a safe and welcoming place. A number of resources are available to ensure safety on campus for Co-Op Students
Safety resources for Co-Op Students
Co-op provides students with an opportunity to gain valuable work experience while studying at UBC. During your co-op placement, you are considered an employee of that organization. Your employer must comply with WorkSafeBC regulations and is obligated to ensure your health and safety during the placement.
- All paid students must take the following UBC Required Safety Courses:
- Preventing and Addressing Workplace Bullying and Harassment
- New Worker Safety Orientation
- Workplace Violence Prevention Training
- Privacy & Information Security – Fundamentals Part 1 Online
- Privacy & Information Security – Fundamentals Part 2 Online
- You should also receive education about hazards you may encounter
If you do not receive the above mentioned information, please contact your co-op office for further information.
