What diver in training forms are required?
The following forms and documents should be scanned and sent to the Diving Safety Officer (dive.safety@ubc.ca)
- Diver Registration Form (PDF)
- Diver Liability Waiver (PDF)
- Copies of diving certifications
- Copy of diving log book last 5 dives/2.5 hours,
- Copy of first aid and CPR certification
- Copy of Occupational Divers Medical (PDF)
Divers may start training while awaiting their medical. CPR can be provided during the course.
What diving standards and regulations must be followed?
All dives being conducted in British Columbia must follow Part 24 of the WorksafeBC regulations
The University of British Columbia is a member of the Canadian Association for Underwater Science (PDF) and follows their standards for diver training and operations.
Are there additional suggested readings and useful links for diving training?
The following chapters of the NOAA Diving Manual is a handy reference for preparation to write the CAUS Level 1 exam:

- Use the DCIEM tables (WORD) as a homework assignment.
What is required for the diving project approval process?
The following documents should be provided at least 30 days prior to start of a field season.
