Property Insurance
UBC has a broad form insurance program in place that is intended to provide insurance protection for the business of the university. All policies of insurance are subject to exclusions and limitations of coverage depending on the circumstances of the claim.
Property Insurance: This includes coverage for UBC buildings, contents, inventory as well as equipment owned/leased or rented in the auspices of UBC business. If equipment is leased or rented, an agreement must be in place where UBC is the party to the agreement. UBC does not cover provide coverage for the personal property of faculty, staff, volunteers or students. This includes financial costs that may arise from lost research or administrative time associated with any claim.
Claim Information: Property damage refers to any physical harm or destruction to UBC owned, leased, or rented property (personal property of UBC employees excluded). This includes but is not limited to damage to buildings, contents and equipment. If loss or damage to UBC property (other than vehicles), please follow the claim information and reporting process.
