Abbey Hall joins VPFO as Executive Assistant, supporting Rae Ann Aldridge, Executive Director, UBC Safety & Risk Services. Abbey comes to us from the University of Victoria, where she worked in both the Office of the President supporting the VP, Indigenous and for the Department of English as a graduate secretary.
Beware of phishing attempts related to global tech outage
The UBC Cybersecurity team is seeing a significant increase in phishing attempts related to a recent global tech outage. Please be extremely cautious of emails claiming to offer help, solutions, or compensation related to the outage. These emails are likely phishing attempts. Please forward phishing emails as an attachment to the UBC Cybersecurity team at security@ubc.ca. Do not click on any links or open attachments.

Emergency Management collaborates across UBC to prepare campus for climate-change emergencies
We have seen the harmful effects of extreme heat, extreme rainfall, and wildfire events in BC over the past few years. To help UBC prepare for climate change-related emergencies, Safety & Risk Services’ Emergency Management alongside faculty partners created the Resilience Hubs for UBC Campus Communities project.
