Security

Campus Security is available to assist the campus community with first aid, safety & security concerns, and more — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our officers patrol the campus on foot, bicycle and visibly marked security vehicles and respond to calls for assistance with any situation that is concerning or suspicious. Campus Security provides the following services to the UBC community:

Building access

Access Services provides three distinct, integral services to the UBC community: Surveillance, Access Control and Alarm Systems.

Blue phones

Blue Phones can be found across the Vancouver campus, and available 24/7. Push the button once and you will be connected to the Campus Security dispatcher.

Event security

For security services that fall outside of general campus security, a specific request can be made

First aid

Campus Security responds to all First Aid calls for students, faculty, staff, student-staff, and visitors on the UBC Vancouver Point Grey campus.

Personal safety planning

Campus Security supports students, faculty, and staff through personal safety planning sessions and education workshops to help address concerns when learning, teaching, and working on campus.

Safewalk

Safewalk is a free service provided by the AMS and will send a co-ed pair of walkers to accompany you to any location on campus. After 2am all calls are rerouted to Campus Security.

Site security assessment

Campus Security has licenced security consultants. A risk assessment is an evaluation of an existing building or area to identify risks and provide options for an enhances risk management profile.
