Emergency supports
At UBC, we plan for and practice our ability to establish these supports as quickly as possible. Following a major emergency, it may take time for first responders and university teams to set up support. Until then, you, your family and roommate(s) may need to manage on your own. Please get informed about the risks and hazards, make a plan for emergencies and build a kit with the things you need to look after yourself and your loved ones.

The location and availability of the types of community response services will be determined at the time of the incident based on the context of the emergency and with community safety in mind.
Mass Care Program
Mass care may be established to support with the provision of food, potable water and shelter to displaced community members in a major emergency. Find out more about the Mass Care Open House event.
