Cathy joins Safety & Risk Services on a full-time, contract basis to help lead the Insurance & Loss Prevention team through a current and future state analysis, and transfer of risk including insurance risk management operations and programs.
Cathy is joining us from the University of Alberta, where she worked since 2017 as the Director of Risk Management & Insurance. In this role, Cathy provided expert advisory council to senior leaders across various University of Alberta departments including working collaboratively with key stakeholder groups such as the Colleges, Faculties, Research Services, Human Resources, IT, Facility & Operations, Dean of Students, and others to assist in building risk management solutions that identify and mitigate risk while supporting informed decision making and institutional objectives.
As a member of the University of Alberta’s Enterprise Risk Management Committee, Cathy fully supported the re-development and improvement of the University’s Enterprise Risk Framework and lead the redesign & implementation of the University’s legislative compliance management framework. In addition she was a Risk Advisory Board Member with the Canadian University Reciprocal Insurance (CURIE).
