In his new role, John will be responsible for the ongoing support of the Insurance & loss prevention program, ensuring succession planning and knowledge transfer and increasing team capacity. This new role was created to align with developments within Insurance & Loss Preventions’ long-term support for the campus-wide insurance program, contractor management program and drive safe, as well as to drive forward our claims management system refresh.
John has over 20 years of experience at UBC, with six years in a variety of roles supporting Safety & Risk Services and the Campus Wide Insurance Program. Prior to joining Safety & Risk Services, he worked in Financial Operations, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Medicine, and Faculty of Science.
John is currently completing his Canadian Risk Management Diploma at Simon Fraser University and recently received his Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification from the UBC Sauder School of Business.
