Safety Day 2022 was a huge success with the largest attendance than ever before — 245 people!
On October 4, the Great Hall in the Nest was filled with Joint Occupational Health and Safety (JOHSC) Committee and Local Safety Team members networking with one another and visiting the 16 vendor tables, which included our very own Campus Security and Emergency Management as well as our HR groups and Gold Sponsors and community partners (WorkSafeBC, Police, Fire and Ambulance).
Participants eagerly took notes during the engaging and humour-filled speaker sessions. The keynote speaker, Terry Small, speaking on the topic of a healthy brain was loved by all. We all learned that prunes are the number one food for the brain!
Multiple Vice Presidents were present throughout the day to give opening remarks and present awards to the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee and Local Safety Teams.
Over 100 participants spun the Safety & Risk (SRS) Services wheel, answered a health and safety question and walked away with a prize (cordless drill, umbrella, coffee mugs etc.). Thank you to everyone in SRS who helped make this event a success!
