We are pleased to welcome Sam Stephens into his new role as Interim Director, Campus Security in UBC’s Safety and Risk Services, effective June 20, 2022.
Sam Stephens joined UBC this past May to support Safety & Risk Services as Director, Special Projects. In his new position, Sam will be responsible for leading the Campus Security team and ensuring that we continue to provide great service to keep the campus community safe and secure. His extensive experience in leading projects and teams within Compliance, Security, and Risk Management roles in the public sector will make him a valuable addition to the Campus Security team.
Prior to joining UBC, Sam has worked within unique industries such as CBSA, Canadian Coast Guard, BC Lottery Corporation and most recently with the City of Vancouver. He also holds a Masters of Enterprise Risk Management from Boston University, as well as multiple industry designations, and has a passion for continued learning and development.
Outside of the workplace, he is usually spending time with his three kids, coaching lacrosse (Go Bellies!), or riding his bike.
