Norman Kotze joins the Emergency Management team as Associate, Emergency & Continuity Planning

We are pleased to welcome Norman Kotze as the one-year Associate, Emergency & Continuity Planning within the Emergency Management team.

In his new role, Norman will help lead continuity planning for the Vancouver Point Grey campus. Working with academic units, he will assist in the roll-out of our Continuity Planning Framework and the creation of Continuity Plans for faculties using a risk-based approach.

Norman comes to us most recently from the City of Richmond, where he held the position of Program Manager, Emergency Planning for four years. While there, Norman was responsible for the city’s emergency operations preparedness, emergency support services, public education programs, and business continuity. In addition, he was instrumental in implementing a corporate performance framework that aligned with the city’s vision, strategic plan, and corporate direction, as well as in completing their Business Impact Assessments and developing Continuity Plans for departments.

Norman holds certificates in Emergency Social Services Director from the Justice Institute of British Columbia, Business Continuity Planning from the Disaster Recovery Institute (DRI International), and Business Data Analytics from the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA).
