Help shape Emergency Preparedness at UBC: Take the survey

Full Survey Name: Resilience Hubs for UBC Campus Communities: Vulnerability & Resilience of People and Infrastructure

Purpose/Explanation

The survey forms part of the study “Resilience Hubs for UBC Campus Communities: Vulnerability & Resilience of People and Infrastructure” (BREB H25-02128). The research examines how members of the UBC Vancouver community understand and prepare for multi-hazard risks (e.g., earthquakes, wildfire smoke, extreme heat, flooding). This study directly supports UBC’s efforts to strengthen emergency preparedness, climate resilience, and community well-being across campus.

By collecting feedback from UBC students, faculty, and staff, the research will provide evidence-based insights to guide emergency management planning, inform Resilience Hub development, and align operational strategies under the Campus as a Living Lab Grand Challenge. Findings will help UBC’s Emergency Management Office and Campus + Community Planning to improve communication, resource accessibility, and resilience infrastructure. The study also reinforces UBC’s leadership in disaster governance and climate adaptation research, contributing to institutional goals outlined in Vision 2050 and the Climate Action Plan 2030.
